Activities

We have 12 novice monks currently at our centre. They are engaged with many different activities every day to enrich them with knowledge and skills. The activities are listed below.

1. Puja and meditation

The monks start and end their day by performing Puja and meditation daily. This will help them to live their life spiritually and morally.

2. Dhamma class

The Dhamma class is scheduled at 8 am every day. The monks learn about the teachings of the Buddha, they are taught to recite the chanting and to memorize them. They learn stories about the life of the Buddha’s and also moral stories that implies on their day to day life and teach them about meditation and it’s important.

3. General class

General class sessions follow after the Dhamma class. The monks are taught general studies that include subjects like English, Mathematics, environmental studies, arts and craft and they are also trained to improve their oral skills.

4. Skill development training

We are currently working on the Buddha path project, where we are constructing 108 Buddha statues by ourselves. The management team and the monks do the work themselves manually. We grow and promote organic agro products like vegetables, fruits, rice, cooking oil etc. for our own use and we also give it to our neighbor Mahabodhi sister branches. We have nursery home where many different kinds of plant species and rare medicinal herbs are nurtured. These practical skills will have great impact in their life and will also help balancing the ecosystem.
